Florida's service is VINE, and its public web portal is VINELink for Florida. It is built for a specific-person search and event registration. It is not a list of everyone released from Wakulla County. Results depend on the data supplied by the participating agency, so field detail can vary between the Wakulla County Detention Facility, FDC, and DJJ.
The strongest local coverage statement comes from the Second Judicial Circuit State Attorney's VINE program. Wakulla is one of that circuit's counties. The circuit says Florida VINE monitors people in county jails, the Florida Department of Corrections prison system, and the Department of Juvenile Justice. It also gives a round-the-clock telephone route at 1-877-846-3435 for custody status and facility or location information.
That scope does not include every custody system. VINELink is not the federal Bureau of Prisons locator. It is not a full USMS or ICE history. A person physically leaving the Wakulla jail may have transferred to FDC, another jail, USMS, or ICE rather than entered the community. The event label and reporting agency matter.

Compare the custodial agency, facility, age or birth-date fragments, and other descriptors before opening a record. Never choose a result only because the name resembles the person sought.

- Enter the legal name, then add an available offender or booking identifier.
- Review all likely matches and compare the agency, facility, and identity details.
- Open the correct record and read the custody status plus the event type and time.
- Record the reporting agency, then confirm a release or transfer through that agency.
A no-result screen is ambiguous. The name may be entered differently, the agency feed may lag, a record may not be publicly displayed, or the person may belong to another system. It does not prove release. Likewise, a record that disappears from search does not establish a community exit.

The portal supplies search and registration controls, while WCSO or FDC remains the custodian of the underlying release record.
What Wakulla VINELink Shows
VINELink is an event and custody-information service. Depending on the participating feed, a record can present identity-matching facts, the custodial agency or facility, current custody status, and an event such as release, transfer, escape, death, or another status change. Exact fields are not uniform across agencies.

If “released” appears, note the agency and event time. Contact that agency for the method and destination. For the Wakulla jail, ask WCSO for the release sheet, release date and time, method, and accepting agency if custody changed hands. Second Judicial Circuit instructions say not to use a number routed through a switchboard. Each phone registration is separate, although the same PIN may be reused. Registration data is confidential and is not disclosed to the person in custody. Florida's FDC Victim Notification Request is a distinct service for qualifying victims, survivors, or representatives. It should not be confused with ordinary public VINELink registration.

Wakulla VINE Phone Call Pattern
The Second Judicial Circuit gives unusually detailed call mechanics. When an automated custody-change call arrives, entering the selected four-digit PIN acknowledges the notice and stops repeat calls. Unanswered or busy calls repeat every half hour for 48 hours. After a message is left, calls recur every two hours for up to 48 hours or until the PIN is entered.
Release or escape calls can arrive at night. A direct line helps the system reach the intended registrant and accept PIN acknowledgment. If a chosen PIN is not supplied on the separate FDC printable notification form, the form states that the final four digits of the telephone number become the default PIN. Telephone notices repeat until acknowledgment; text and email notices do not repeat in the same manner.

The circuit instructions make the PIN more than a security detail. It is the acknowledgment that stops repeated automated calls.
Verify Wakulla VINELink Release Events
After a WCSO alert, call Corrections at (850) 745-7100 and ask whether the person left for the community or transferred. Request the release sheet when documentary proof is needed. WCSO operates the Wakulla County Detention Facility at 15 Oak Street, Crawfordville. Because that jail can house local detainees, immigration detainees, and contracted federal pretrial prisoners, the destination is as important as the exit time.
After an FDC alert, use the FDC Offender Search. Read Current Status, incarceration history, release history, and supervision together. A released detail may show a past Release Date and out-custody history, while a later admission can establish renewed custody. For a county detainee who never entered FDC custody or supervision, no FDC record is expected.

For a BOP sentence, use the federal inmate locator. For a WCSO-noted ICE transfer, use ICE's detention channel. VINELink must not be stretched beyond the reporting system shown in the event.
Wakulla Release Registries Differ
Florida's Sexual Offenders and Predators Search is separate from VINE. It applies only to people with a statutory registration duty. Its “Released - Subject to Registration” filter has a specific meaning: no longer confined or supervised by FDC or DJJ, no longer confined in a Florida county jail, and no longer under another court-imposed sanction, while the registration duty continues.
The Career Offender Registry also covers only a limited designated population. Its Released filter indicates that FDC confinement, supervision, or another court-imposed sanction has ended while registration remains required. These tools can be useful when the known case makes the registry relevant, but neither is a general Wakulla County released-person list.
An absent registry result proves nothing about ordinary custody or discharge. Search VINELink for the custody event, WCSO for a county release, and FDC for state custody or supervision. Each source answers a narrower question, and their labels should not be merged.
